Doug Jones

Doug Jones is the former Northern District attorney of Alabama, a position that he was appointed to in 1997 by President Bill Clinton. He was then elected to the US Senate in December of 2017, in a special senate election. Jones stands for moderately liberal values, specifically fighting for affordable health care and funding for public schools across Alabama. 

Richard Shelby

Richard Shelby is the former city prosecutor of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was elected to the US Senate for the first time in 1986. After his election, he left the Democratic party and joined the Republican party in 1994. He stands for conservative values, including a strong pro-life belief.
